December 19, 2010 at 10:40 amI LOVE your website. My husband and I always refer to it when trying to perfect our chana masala recipe!! We are also flirting with making some of the breads. Do you ever use a slow cooker for the beans?? I just got this book “The Indian Slow Cooker” by Anupy Singla and it is great for people who don’t have time to cook!
You literally put the dried beans in the pot with spices (on most of them) and push a button. I have been trying all the recipes & some of my experiences are here at

I would love to try some of your bread recipes & wonder which are the best gluten free options?? What flour would you substitute for wheat? Teff maybe??

You can see some of the photos of the Indian slow cooker food.
How do you feel about this method of cooking?

March 1, 2010 at 11:09 amManjula Ji,
For many of us Indians, particularly vegetarians, your recipes are invaluable. I wish to express my gratitude for your wonderful work.
On a personal note, watching you cook is a real pleasure – your style has the homely, no-pretension feel to it. And you do things exactly how I am used to eating at home 🙂
-regards,
Basu
